How to copy Sighthound Video clips to your iPhone

Before you begin, make sure that your Sighthound Video computer and your iPhone are connected to the same network.

Check the Network settings on both to verify that the active wifi networks are the same.

If your computer has an ethernet connection, your iPhone must be using the WiFi on the same network.

You will need the following data from Sighthound Video before you attempt to copy your video clips:

1. The "Login user ID"

2. The "Login password"

3. The "Internal address" of the computer that is running Sighthound Video

Open the Sighthound Video application on your computer.

Select menu option "Sighthound Video => Preferences"

Select the tab "Remote Access"

Take note of the "Login user ID" - add one if the field is blank

The "Login password" is not shown in clear text. If you do not remember it, you can add a new one here now.

The "Internal address" is listed along with other addresses.

On your iPhone, open the Safari app.

Open a new page (Press the right hand documents icon and then the plus sign on the bottom of the screen).

At the top of the screen, find the field that has text reading something like "Search or enter website..."

Enter the "Internal address" from above, followed by "/#/clips" - without the double quotes - Mine looks like this:

    https://192.168.1.223:8848/#/clips

The first time you connect your iPhone to the Sighthound Video service, you will need to allow the connection.

A Windows will pop up titled something like "This Connection Is Not Private"

Click on "Show Details" and a bunch of scary text shows up.

At the very bottom of all that text, click on "visit this website" to continue.

Now, you will get a verification "Are you sure..." - Click on "the red text "Visit Website" to make the connection.

The first time you get this far, you need to login.

Enter the "Login user ID" and the "Login password" and then press "Login"

This should open the Sighthound Video Clips page hosted on the computer running Sighthound Video.

This page is not formatted for an iPhone, so parts will be hard to read.

In fact, the thumbnails are tiny, but you can make them larger.

You want to do a "reverse pinch" here.

Put your index finger and thumb together on the screen, and then slide them apart slowly to make the image larger.

You can also press a single finger down and slide it around to move the image.

Repeat as needed to get those clip thumbnails large enough to determine which one you want to download.

Find the clip you want to download, and press and hold your finger on it.

A pop up will appear where you can select "Add to Photos"

You can repeat this for as many clips as you want to download.

Open the "Photos" app on your iPhone to view the clips you have downloaded.
